"SO MUCH TO DO... A FULL DAY PACKED WITH ADVENTURE!"

14-HOLE GOLF COURSE

Our recently refurbished 14-hole Mini Golf course is great fun for all the family and free with each aquarium ticket, saving £12 on your day. Whether for fun or competition we're sure you'll enjoy the challenge.

The holes include jumps, rollercoasters and pinball tables, and take you on a scenic trail through our lovely gardens while testing your skill and luck all the way.

The course takes you outside around our building so you will have great chances to enjoy the view of the Solway while waiting for your turn. You'll also be able to peer into the harbour at trawlers heading out & returning from sea.

STUNNING DISPLAYS

Since first opening May 1997 we've had 27 years of fish-filled fun. With five daily fish feeding talks on the hour from midday, we provide great chances to see our fish getting fed while learning new & interesting facts from one of our aquarists. Please feel free to ask lots of questions at the end of each talk.

Your ticket will be valid all day for the date purchased, so you can come and go as you please. With over 75 displays we are constantly expanding and introducing new features to the aquarium and our surrounding attractions, such as the Piranha and SeaLab extensions. It's always a great time to visit Maryport Aquarium.

CAFE & TAKE-AWAY

Our café is part of the aquarium building but like the gift shop, mini golf and boat pool is
accessible to the general public, not just ticket holders. Vegan / Gluten free options.

Its location is amazing, with wide-screen views overlooking the harbour out across the Solway to Scotland on clear days. If the weather allows there are picnic tables and a patio with umbrellas, allowing us to seat 60+ customers at any one time, so we can cope with coaches, too.

We serve a great cup of coffee, with regulars dropping in for a cappuccino and a fresh scone. We are non-smoking, accessible to wheelchairs, with high chairs for infants.

THE 'TACKLE SHED'

If you want tackle advice please call the aquarium before making a long journey to check one of our advisors is in the building.

We recently extended our fishing tackle shop and it is fast becoming the West Coast's premiere drop in point for fresh rag, fresh maggots and frozen bait, with tons of rods, reels and tackle for beach, boat and freshwater fishing. Our freezers are always stocked with black lug, squid, mackerel fillets, sandeel, bluey, razor, pike packs, lamprey and much more.

Our tackle selection grows by the day with cheap starter gear for every type of fishing, up to the very best rods and reels from Akios, Tronixpro, Savage Gear, Okuma and more.

*New in: Huge bass and LRF range with light rods, reels and hundreds of soft and hard lure options from Savage Gear and Sidewinder. Wide variety of tackle and seat boxes, landing nets, drop nets and boat nets.

New range of quality boat rods including Savage Gear Nordic range.

Lake District Coast Aquarium Visitor Comments 2024

We love to hear about your visit to the aquarium, golf course, cafe, playpark and giftshop, as it helps us keep up standards and improve our service. Recently we added free 14-hole Crazy Golf to the standard admission ticket, while our new SeaLab extension is proving popular.

""We stayed for lunch and I have to say the meal was lovely. Good selection of food and cakes and didn't have to wait too long even though it was really busy. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back"

Beverley Moore Apr 2024

"We popped here today and really enjoyed it, purchasing a family ticket. I wasn't sure what to expect but it exceeded expectations, with lots of different fish to see, lots of information to read, and our children were kept entertained for a couple of hours. There was a children's activity sheet to do, and near the end there was a little area with colouring sheets to do as well.

Esta-jane Middling Apr 2024

"Lovely day out with the family. No queuing at the time but not sure what it would be like during the Summer months. Cafe food was brilliant with gluten free food. Also crazy golf included in the aquarium tickets"
